Let the wandering begin…

As I compose this first post, I realise that I’m already starting to feel a bit sheepish. A bit shy, a bit uncertain. I’ve been blankly staring at my laptop screen for a few minutes now, wondering how best to write this, while a mug of cheap instant coffee is rapidly cooling next to me. What should be my grand opening sentence? The first word of my first sentence? The first letter of my first word?

Hello.

Yes, let’s begin with a simple greeting. That’s at least a start, ain’t it? Now it’s time for some proper introductions: My name’s Ming and this is my humble personal blog. I’m a twenty-something-year-old living in Melbourne, Australia. Originally from New Zealand, I currently work in economic consultancy and education policy in Victoria. But my current job doesn’t matter, nor is that what I feel like talking about on this website. On this blog, I hope to share with you my passion for travelling the world, talking about books and movies, as well as reading and writing poetry.

I’m also a bit of a wayfarer… a bit of a rambler… a sojourner…
I peregrinate… I itinerate… I meander…
All in all, I simply wander…

Hence why I’ve called my blog The Wandering Liu. It intent it to be a journal for all my personal wanderings—around the world, through time, through my own mind. There’s also a chronic chance that I’ll get very, very lost along the way. But, come on. Let’s do that together.
